The Gill Corporation was using manual paper-based processes for inventory handling. Information would be written on a piece of paper and then taken to a workstation to be hand-keyed into the SAP system. Not only was the practice time-consuming and inaccurate, critical data often got left on paper as the busy team got pulled in different directions.
