One of the largest consumer packaged good companies in India recently implemented an ERP system from SAP in order to improve efficiencies in its business operations. With the system, Best Foods will be able to automate its operations in order to keep better track of inventory, HR, sales, procurement and shipments, a company statement said.
"This implementation will enable Best Foods to ensure compliance and predictability of business performance via deeper financial insights across the enterprise, optimize processes and manage end-to-end procurement and logistics for complete product cycles," according to the statement.
The food services industry in India is expected to reach beyond $25 billion by 2015, BizTech2 reported. Best Foods said the new ERP system would help it stay ahead of competition. The scalability of the system also means it will not become obsolete as the company grows.
S.K. Khanna, director of financial planning and IT at Best Foods, said the new SAP ERP system would provide a full analysis of the business and enable executives to make quicker decisions to improve services and deliver products.
