In September, communications and engineering solutions company ARINC decided to implement Deltek Costpoint as its primary supply chain-related software solution. Officials with the firm said Deltek Costpoint Manufacturing Execution System should help them more quickly and efficiently refurbish airplanes while also lowering costs, Avionics Intelligence reported.
The enterprise software in particular is expected to help ARINC to increase efficiency in the manufacturing process by providing for more detailed building instructions and better tracking of airplane parts. Additionally, the software solution will help the company keep track of all of parts used in each aircraft, including marking down the serial numbers of all parts used.
The software solution is also expected to help ARINC manage its assets, as it better connects previously disconnected aspects of the supply chain. In particular, the company said it hopes to better tie in the shop floor with its financial management programs.
“Costpoint MES will improve our aircraft [maintenance, repair, and overhaul] operations in a variety of measurable ways," Carl MacKay, Director of Business Operations for ARINC, said in a statement. "We will have one integrated system with all of the appropriate operations and instructions, completely integrated with our planning, project management, invoicing, and accounting processes. The efficiencies gained on the shop floor will enable us to finish work on each aircraft more quickly and profitably, while maintaining our industry-leading quality standards. That’s a win-win for ARINC and our customers."
RFgen is the only certified mobile data collection software partner for Deltek Costpoint.
