Uma Subramaniam is one of RFgen’s Oracle SCM Cloud consultants, based in Singapore. With over 17-years of direct Oracle experience, Uma quickly became an integral part of the Oracle Cloud team when she joined in September 2019. Her duties include coding new features for RFgen’s Oracle Cloud offering, building custom workflows for Oracle customers and performing functional User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
We recently spoke with Uma about what it is like to work at RFgen and how she thinks RFgen enhances the Oracle SCM Cloud ERP.
What’s your role with RFgen?
I am an Oracle Cloud consultant.
How did you start in your core ERP specialty?
Oracle was gaining lot of popularity in SE Asia, so I started learning the 10.4 character version of Oracle Applications.
What does a typical day look like at RFgen for you?
I start my day quite early. I have calls with Mandy Kukreja (RFgen Senior Oracle Consultant), due to the overlap in time zones. We mostly plan all of the activities that need to be completed for the next one to two days. It might include customer work, research that needs to be done for the Oracle Cloud open source, developing RFgen applications for Oracle Cloud and usually some follow up with Oracle.
Why do you like working at RFgen?
Our work gets recognized which is very satisfying.
What do you think makes you effective as an Oracle consultant?
My understanding of the Oracle suite. When I design workflows, I also keep them simple without compromising the functionality.
What do you find most unique about the RFgen technology when it comes to educating your customers on how to use it most effectively?
Our customers usually find RFgen quite user friendly, so educating them becomes very easy.
How do you overcome customer challenges?
Most of the challenges get addressed over time as we keep adding functionalities. But if there is a unique requirement, we address it thoroughly.
Who are you outside of RFgen?
A fun fact about you that is not common knowledge among your coworkers?
I can cook Indian food very well.
