Managed Database Connectivity

The RFgen Mobile Framework supports managed connectivity to any OLEDB / ODBC compliant database like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Access, and more. RFgen's advanced technology manages the entire connection life-cycle, from initial startup to final shutdown, completely eliminating these low-level details from your application design considerations. Using these managed connections, the RFgen Mobile Framework enables developers to quickly and easily access their enterprise data via SQL statements, stored procedures, and Oracle packages.

Connection Pooling

One of the more interesting features found inside RFgen's Mobile Framework is its support for connection pooling. While it is possible to configure RFgen data connections to operate on a connection per client model, where each user has a unique handle to the database, most users choose to deploy RFgen solutions using a pooled model. RFgen connection pooling is a technology that allows database connections to be shared among multiple users, providing maximum utilization of your database licensing costs.

Remote Data Access and Synchronization

The ability to easily synchronize data from your managed enterprise database connections to your mobile or batch devices, either through being physically docked, wirelessly through your WiFi network, or via a cellular connection, is also an integral part of the RFgen Mobile Framework. In addition to simply transferring data between the enterprise and user devices, RFgen offers numerous options to provide data replication from your primary databases to remote / backup systems. Using this technology, RFgen customers are able to setup mission critical systems that can allow supply chain operations to continue, even if the primary enterprise systems are offline or unavailable.
